Principal, Overland Partners
Rick Archer is the CEO and a founding principal at Overland Partners. He is a gifted designer whose work has been recognized with numerous awards for their sensitivity and beauty. His discipline and creativity help him excel at the collaborative process, and he is known for drawing out the best from his teams and clients. Rick is more interested in making good buildings than great ones. The distinction lies in a building’s relationship to context. While greatness is about standing apart, goodness happens within the realm of day-to-day life. His architectural philosophy has grown from this, and he believes it is better to make buildings that are in harmony with their context—that support the greater good—than to make buildings that are “exceptional.” Rick received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Texas at Austin where he was recognized for his academic achievements, service, and leadership. He is a LEED Accredited Professional and a member of the AIA College of Fellows.
